Great news:

This past week we were evaluated by the North Central Association. The NCA is the group that gives us our accreditation for our school portion of the program. They gave us the second highest rating that they offer. We were told that very few schools can get the highest rating.  We just want to give glory to God for allowing us to continue to do what we are all passionate about doing which is working with you and your sons to help them have a brighter future and prayerfully come to know the Lord in a deep relationship.

Travel Plans for break:

Parents,

Our next break is one month away, May 5- 20. Please send your sons travel plans as soon as possible! Read below for more details about options for flights.

You may have your son’s fly out of Branson or Springfield. If it is cheaper to fly out a couple of days earlier than May 5 that is fine with us. The same goes for after break. If the flight is cheaper on a Monday rather than Sunday please go with the cheaper flight. We would ask that no student leaves after May 5 or comes back earlier than May 20. If you are wanting your son to check a bag you must pay for it when you purchase a plan ticket. We will not buy it at the gate.

Money or Gift Card Policy:

Our money and gift card policy has changed a little.  We are still asking that you do not send money of any kind to the students.  However, up until now parents could send gift cards to students.  It is this policy that has changed. The new policy is that if you want to send a gift card, please talk to Mr. Vaught about it first.  We have been getting parents sending gift cards with high amounts of money on them.  Also, if you send a restaurant gift card please consider sending enough for the mentor that will have to take them. Our desire is that the students will want to work for all the money they receive here.  Also, when visiting we don’t care if you want to buy your son some snacks, but please limit it to just a few things.

World View:

  • World View

In Mr.Vaught’s worldview we are going through a study on music. We will go from the origins of rock and roll through contemporary music. Overall we are using the Bible to see if today’s music glorifies God or not.

In Mr. High’s worldview we will be going over a section in Foundations:  An overview of systematic theology, which addresses death and the intermediate state.

In Mr. Boldman’s class we are going over pre-break protocol.  We discussed Ephesians 6:1-3 and the blessings that can come with honoring their parents.

Mr. Johns is working the boys through the Foundations of the Faith workbook.  Mr. Jerod (an intern) is also taking the boys through Thoughts For young Men, by J.C. Ryle.  Both of these books are on our resource page if you wish to view them.
